PORT Vale fan James Spruce has raised hundreds of pounds in memory of his grandad who lost his two-year battle with lung cancer.
The 24-year-old gas fitter was inspired to support the Douglas Macmillan Hospice after his much-loved grandfather Derek Spruce passed away there at the age of 73 in January.
He has gone on to collect nearly £2,000 to thank the Blurton-based charity for the care Derek received in the last few weeks of his life.
